Agitation System - Base Model
The Base Agitation System within Hooker Pumps' cutting-edge Agitation Dispensing System is a versatile solution designed to revolutionize the liquid mixing and dispensing processes from IBC totes with precision and ease.
Convenience meets control with the Agitation Dispensing System, which utilizes an integrated lid containing a user-friendly display and a precise flow meter to dispense up to 21 gallons per minute (GPM). The innovative design of the brushless Hooker Pumps submersible pump features a dynamic mixing nozzle that whips around inside the IBC tote, ensuring thorough and efficient mixing. The submersible pump also features a low-profile screen to effectively extract all chemicals from a tote.
Operating the system is simple: Place the unit into the IBC tote, connect the power cord into a 12V DC power supply (AC to DC waterproof converters available). Users can easily choose between two different modes – Agitation or Dispense – on the controller to initiate the process.
Agitation Mode is used for agitation-only tasks, allowing the pump to run and agitate the liquid utilizing the integrated mixing nozzle for a set period of time. Users can easily adjust the 'default' timing of the Agitation Mode as needed within the settings and easily reset the system for another cycle while retaining your preferred settings within the memory.
Dispense Mode allows the user to control the desired rate and volume of liquid dispensed by the Agitation Dispensing System. The volume can be displayed in gallons or liters, and the flow meter can also be calibrated for different materials — providing flexibility and accuracy for diverse applications. While in Dispense Mode, the pump may be turned on to agitate the liquid but the system only starts dispensing and recording fluid volume and rate of flow on the flow meter once the user opens the nozzle. Simultaneously while fluid is dispensing, the agitation mixing nozzle continues to thoroughly mix inside the container until the liquid reaches the set volume mark (Ex. 40 gallons at a rate of 20 gallons per minute).
SAFETY GUIDELINES / DEFINITIONS
This manual contains information that is important for you to know and understand. The content relates to protecting YOUR SAFETY and PREVENTING EQUIPMENT PROBLEMS. Please read this manual carefully and follow all instructions.
ALWAYS REFER TO THE MANUALS SUPPLIED WITH THIS UNIT
SAFETY PRECAUTION
- Do not operate this pump without first reading the complete user manual. Failure to do so may result in accidents or unnecessary equipment damage.
- Check the oil level in the crankcase shell. The use of S2G200 gear oil is suggested. The oil level must reach at least half the oil mark on the indicator. Never operate the pump before lubricating oil has been checked.
- When stopping, always cut power to the pump first, then shut off the • water source.
- Pump outlet pressure must be set to appropriate levels. Do not exceed the maximum rated working pressure at any time.
- Install a suction filter with a minimum mesh size of 40 mesh/inch on the inlet pipe to prevent impurities and debris from entering the pump.

PREPARATION
- Before use, inject lubricating oil (ISOVG 68-150) into the crankcase until the oil level reaches half. Replace the red oil plug with an oil dipstick. Failure to replace the oil plug voids the manufacturer’s warranty.
- Connect the water outlet pipeline, water inlet pipeline, suction filter, and bypass pipeline. Verify that all fasteners and pipeline joints are properly secured before startup.
- Install a filtering device of no less than 40 mesh/inch at the end of the inlet pipe to prevent debris from entering the pump and affecting normal operation.
STARTUP AND OPERATION
- The general unloading valve is pre-adjusted to rated pressure — no re-adjustment is required under normal conditions.
- Due to the limited water absorption performance of the plunger pump, keep the liquid level in the water tank no lower than the pump’s installation height.
- When using a water tank as the supply source, prime the pump by filling water through the inlet pipe while the spray gun trigger is open to exhaust air from the pipeline. Once the pump operates normally, place the inlet pipe in the tank — ensuring the water level remains above the machine base — and fit the inlet pipe with a filter.
If no water discharges within 30–60 seconds of startup, fill the pump inlet pipe and inspect the inlet pipeline for suction issues.
Do not allow pump pressure to exceed the specified rating. Reduce pressure immediately if the rated pressure is exceeded to prevent pump overload and damage.
Maximum dry-run (dehydration) operation time: 90 seconds.
Always fill the crankcase with oil before operation. Use Shell S2G200 gear oil. Operating without oil will cause irreversible pump damage.
Note: It is normal for the movement seal to show minor oil or water droplets during operation, provided the water drip rate does not exceed 1 ml/min (approximately 10 drops/min).
SHUTDOWN AND STORAGE
- Before shutting down, power off the pump and wipe all external components clean.
- If storing in temperatures below 0°C, inject antifreeze (e.g., 75% alcohol solution) into the pump and accessories.
- To inject: start the pump and draw antifreeze through the inlet until it discharges from the spray gun, then shut off.
